Layers
A layer is a single element in your composition — a shape, a group, a null, or an adjustment. Layers stack top-to-bottom in the timeline, with the top layer rendering in front in the viewport.
Every layer has a visibility toggle, a solo toggle, a lock, a label color, and an in/out point that sets when it appears and disappears on the timeline. Click a layer’s label dot to change its color — useful for grouping related layers visually without nesting them.
Select a layer by clicking it in the viewport or the timeline. Hold Shift or Alt and click more layers to extend the selection. Drag a selection marquee box around multiple layers to select more than one.
