Texture Fills

A texture fill draws a shape with an image or video. Add a texture fill and use the Import Texture button to load a file, or drag an image or video directly onto the shape.

Once loaded, the texture has its own position, scale, and rotation, so you can reposition and transform the image inside the shape independently of the shape itself. Fit mode controls how the texture sizes to the shape:

  • Fill — scale up to cover the shape, cropping if needed.
  • Fit — scale inside the bounds, leaving space if the aspect ratios don’t match.
  • Stretch — warp to match the shape’s dimensions exactly.
  • Tile — repeat to cover the shape.

Videos have a Time property — keyframe it to scrub independently of comp time, or let it auto-sync when there are no keyframes.
