Fractal Noise

Generates noise patterns directly on the layer — no source content needed. Use it for textures, backgrounds, or as a displacement source for other effects.

Noise Type picks the underlying algorithm: Value, Perlin, Simplex (smoother Perlin), or Voronoi (cell-shaped).

Fractal Mode combines multiple layers of noise into richer patterns: FBM (standard fractal noise), Turbulence (billowing clouds), or Ridge (sharp crests, like cracks or veins). Ridge Offset shapes the ridge curve when Ridge mode is active.

Color Mode outputs Grayscale (default) or Color.

Evolution animates the noise over time — keyframe this for animated noise patterns. This property loops every 360 degrees.

Scale X and Scale Y control pattern size (linked by default). Offset X and Offset Y shift the pattern across the layer.

Detail controls how many layers of noise are combined — higher values add finer detail at the cost of render time. Spacing controls the size jump between detail layers; Gain controls how much each layer contributes to the final look. Also known as “Octaves” in other apps.

Warp Amount distorts the noise with a second noise pattern, for more organic, liquid-like patterns.

Warp Evolution animates the warp independently of Evolution.

Brightness and Contrast adjust the output range.

Invert flips light and dark.

The noise pattern stays locked to the layer’s transform — rotating or scaling the layer rotates and scales the pattern with it.
