Gradient Fills
A gradient fill paints a smooth color transition across a shape. Pick Linear for a straight-line gradient, or Radial for one that radiates out from a center point.
Gradient stops are the color points along the gradient. Add, move, and recolor them from the gradient card in the Properties Panel or straight from the viewport. With a gradient selected you can also drag the gradient’s endpoints directly in the viewport — hold Shift while dragging to snap an endpoint to a shape edge or corner.
Mode determines how the gradient behaves when Offset is animated:
- Extend — extends the gradient from start to end point.
- Repeat — repeats the gradient after the end point, starting from the start again.
- Mirror — like Repeat, but mirrors each repetition so the gradient ping-pongs back and forth.
The Interpolate toggle determines whether the color stops on the gradient bar are interpolated smoothly or as hard color stops. Smoothness can further dial in how smooth the blending between the color stops should be.
Iterations determines how many times you want to repeat the gradient between the start and end point.
The gradient’s angle, scale, offset, smoothness, and iterations are all keyframeable, so you can animate the gradient sweeping across the shape over time.
