Timeline

Where layers live as horizontal bars, with the playhead, work area, and keyframe tracks.

Tracks are hidden by default — a layer collapses to just its bar. Press U with a layer selected to open all its properties, UU to show only animated ones, or P / S / R / A / O to jump to Position, Scale, Rotation, Anchor, or Opacity. To keep a specific property’s track visible permanently, Shift-click its label name in the Properties Panel.

Drag keyframes to move them in time. Alt+Cmd-click a keyframe to cycle through Linear → Smooth → Hold; right-click for more. Press G to toggle the Graph Editor. B and N set the work area start and end.
